The Pantry goes Pop!

puces

Hey canning nerds,

I will be at the Puces Pop marketplace this weekend selling my wares.

The Puces Pop marketplace, my fellow preserves perverts, is a little bazaar/market/fair where all kinds local crafters and artisans gather to hawk their poetry zines, vegan soaps and kooky jewelery designs. This year, I enlisted and have joined their ranks.

Come by St-Michel church at 105 St-Viateur W., corner of St-Urbain, this Sat. or Sun. (Oct 3 & 4) between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

It’s part of the always awesome Pop Montreal music fest that happens here every October. (Personal top show picks: Fever Ray, Os Mutantes and Lee Fields & the Expressions)

pop

Lots to do before this weekend, gotta make labels and do inventory, think about my table display…

Here’s what my dining room table looks like at the moment:

The jars have taken over my life and I just have to ride it out.

This marketplace will either be fun and energizing for me or… Hmmm, eight hours does seem like a long time to sit at a table with my jars. I will bring a book. And maybe some magazines. And my lap top. Come say hi!

I have no doubt that it will be a runaway success… I see movies based on your life story in the future… xxx

That is awesome, congrats! I just tried my first preserving recipe, a sweet chili sauce, which i hope will turn out nicely. I will definitely be stopping by the Marketplace and keep an eye out for your table!

    Cheers

    Hey Kristel,
Nice, sweet chili sauce. I lived in Australia for almost four years and they put that stuff on EVERYTHING. Where did you get your recipe from? Great, come say hi at the marketplace if you’re there this weekend!

Ariel, you saucy, wild thing. I wish you could don that pickle costume of yours and come dance yourself into a frenzy in front of my table of jars. xx

Well, it’s not all bad. My pickle costume is getting a workout at International Pickle Day, which takes place this Sunday in NY. There is some more information about it here:

I really wish you could make it, maybe next year? We could go in matching costumes…

Shizzy it’s raining out but I am still planning on stopping by today!

I got the sweet chili recipe from the book “Preserved” by Nick Sandler and Johnny Acton.

    Cheers!
